We all should be proud of our American Legion Family presence in Richfield Days this year. We had more people marching for the parade color guard, we had our most-seasoned veterans riding on a beautiful float, and we created an amazing food and games area for families to enjoy at the picnic. This hard work was spear-headed by our ladies from the Auxiliary, but could not have happened without a lot of help from SAL and Legion members. Here at Post 522 we are first and foremost a single family, and events like the parade and picnic show the amazing results of being a family first.
We had considerable support from the community in the form of donations for the Poppy Patch fundraiser. The Richfield Rebels 4H group manned the games on Sunday as an act of community service, the Richfield Volunteer Firefighters put on a great picnic and the Richfield Parade Committee did a wonderful job for the community. There really is something special in this community, and American Legion Post 522 is proud to be a part of it!
