American Legion Post 522- Goetz Saint Louis Hubertus WI

Book Club

The Book Club’s handle is Keeping the Stories Alive!  Join Post 522 Legion member Tim Yauck and our community of readers and audiobook listeners as they engage our Country’s Military History.

The first book is a story called Devotion by author Adam Makos, an epic story of heroism, friendship, and sacrifice.  From America’s forgotten war in Korea comes two Naval pilots and the Marines they fought to defend. This story draws a moving narrative from the shadows of the Korean War and challenges you to pause and consider just how far we would go to save a friend.

The duration of this read will be 6 weeks.  The Club will commence reading Devotion on October 1st, 2023.  There will be a Mid-point gathering on October 23rd to talk about the book and will include a deeper dive into the specifics of the story and the Korean War.  On November 13th, the 6-week point, which is the conclusion of the read, you will gather to discuss the overall book and discuss what the outcome of the war has led to.  At the 6-week gathering food will be served.

All Book Club meetings will be Live Streamed! Use the link below to connect to Tim’s YouTube channel “Keeping the Stories Alive” and be sure to subscribe!
